Some adventures are about disconnecting—no phones or other electronics to disturb your time in nature. Other adventures, however, require some juice to keep you going. Whether you need to track your location or performance on a smartwatch or document the journey on a GoPro, the Knog PWR Solar Panel 10W will help you stay charged off the grid at a competitive price. Here’s a look at what the PWR Solar Panel 10W brings to the table.

Stay Charged

Lightweight and compact, the PWR Solar Panel 10W was designed with adventurers in mind. The 15.9-ounce device smartly packs down to the size of a small tablet when not in use, making it an inconspicuous addition to any backpack. On its own, the solar panel can directly charge electronic devices, including phones, smartwatches, headlamps, and GoPros using a single USB-A output.

For more elaborate setups or to create your own self-supported system for bikepacking, camping, and other outdoor adventures, the PWR Solar Panel 10W can be used to charge Knog’s external PWR Banks to store power for future use.

Finally, communication is everything. The four LEDs on top of the unit perform dual display functions. Showing both the quality of the available sunlight and the device charging rate.

Durability & Performance

No adventure is too rugged for the PWR Solar Panel 10W. The entire unit is protected from the elements using ETFE—an industrial-level coating that stands up to heat, water, salt, oil, and dirt.

Durability is just one part of the equation, however. Not all solar cells perform equally. So to give you the most charge for your buck, the PWR Solar Panel 10W uses premium SunPower Maxeon Gen 5 panels, which employ monocrystalline cells. (In layman’s terms: this type of cell is so efficient, NASA uses it too!) Additionally, the panel has integrated chip technology to detect improving solar conditions and, when necessary, will resume charging to ensure optimal performance and efficiency. Less technological but equally important, the D-ring attachment lets you clip the charger to your pack to absorb rays even when you’re on the move.
