Bluefin 4D Vibration Plate Technology
What stands out from other vibration plates is the Bluefin 4D’s curved base. This allows for maximum contact at all times so that your body can fully absorb the vibrations for maximum benefit.
If you’re wondering what the ‘4D’ refers to, it’s the three primary motors that power the vibration plate. So you get the regular oscillations, where the plate moves from side to side; micro-vibrations, which help to stimulate and contract the smaller stabilising muscles; and the benefits of the magnetic therapy motor. That can be used to help stimulate and soothe joints and muscles post-workout.
Kit out your spare room with the best home gym equipment
Despite its curves, the plate is comfortable to stand on. It’s non-slip surface gives you plenty of room and feels comfortable even with bare feet.
When stepping on the platform you’ll notice small beads in the shape of feet. These metallic pressure beads make it obvious not only where to stand but also where you’ll get the benefits of the soothing micro-oscillation massage heads. Bluefin Fitness claims these stimulate your blood circulation and are designed to offer reflexology benefits.
Bluefin 4D Vibration Plate features
You’ll also notice the green, yellow and red bars situated on the top of the plate. That’s your intensity meter: as your workout’s level steps up, so the meter moves through the colours – giving you useful visual feedback on your session’s intensity.

There are 60 levels of vibration to progress through and three built-in workouts covering weight loss, muscle power and core conditioning. These can all be controlled from the wrist remote. This handy wearable tracks your workout time and intensity too.
To ramp up your workout, you can use the included resistance loops and removable cables. You also get access to how-to videos that will help you get the most from the Bluefin 4D Vibration Plate. It also comes bundled with a nutrition booklet and poster for extra inspiration, and a protective foam mat to help absorb vibrations and protect your floor.

Overall the Bluefin 4D Vibration Plate is an impressive piece of kit that can cope with loads up to 150kg. Its price seems pretty reasonable considering the extras. At under £400, the unit has a lot of features compared to entry-level plates and at 79cm x 46cm (31in x 18in) is bigger than most, giving you all the room you need to try out new exercises. It’s curved design does make it tricky to store, however.
