Most people tend to buy a vibration trainer to train the upper and lower body, but the Eilison FitMax 3D XL Vibration Plate also focuses on your feet. It massages them with its innovative acupressure base. It features raised nodules within the platform that are designed to get deep into the various pressure points on the soles of your feet.

The surface looks uncomfortable to stand on – and at first it feels that way too. But once you get used to the bumpy surface, you’ll begin to reap the benefits.

Eilison FitMax 3D XL Vibration Plate features

With its striking copper finish and a slightly larger platform than most vibration plates on test, the Eilison FitMax 3D XL stands out as a higher-grade plate than cheaper models like the Mirafit Slimline Vibration or the Motive Fitness OP1/30 Elegance.

Measuring 72cm x 40cm (28in x 16in), it’s not as big as the Power Plate Move. But it’s big enough to move around comfortably in all directions, and can accommodate rotations and plyometrics. You’re not cramped for space on this one.

It’s easy to store, too, thanks to its flat surface. And powerful suction pads help it to stick to the floor even when shaking at level 120.

How to use the Eilison FitMax 3D XL Vibration Plate

Set-up is quick and easy, despite a somewhat basic manual. The on button is easy to locate, or you can switch the unit on via the remote. The only issue here is you have to be close to the plate or the remote won’t work. To move through the 120 levels of increasing vibration you simply press ‘up’ and work through the levels. You can connect the built-in speakers to your phone via Bluetooth. They’re quite small and aren’t the best quality, but are a useful addition nonetheless.

The acupressure massage system is the highlight of the Eilison FitMax 3D XL. It’s like having an acupuncture session, stimulating various points to increase blood flow. The FitMax 3D XL also comes with resistance bands, which connect to the machine via two metal plates. Plus you’ll get a fitness tracking watch and a lifetime warranty. Eilison claims it puts each of its machines through 80 spot checks, providing welcome reassurance when spending £300 on an exercise machine like the FitMax.

The power and the smoothness of the vibrations are difficult to fault, and operation is quiet too. The nodules take some getting used to (wearing socks is a good way to get started). But once you do, you should enjoy their gradual massage and pleasant tension release.
