Sixty-five of the best anglers in the Hobie Bass Open Series headed out to Lake Marion and Lake Moultrie, in Clarendon County, South Carolina to compete in the Hobie Lowrance Tournament of Champions November 6-8, 2024. In total, $62,00 in prize money was paid out to the top 15 in this final Angler of the Year Race.
Big wins were won by Garrett Morgan from Arkansas, with a total 280.50” of bass caught, the Grand Champion of the event. Morgan is President of the Arkansas Bass Nation Kayak Series, and a guest co-host on Fishing Arkansas Radio Show as well as a healthcare professional.
Morgan was followed by Ryan Matylewicz from Pennsylvania with a total of 279.00” and Ewing Minor from Virginia with a total of 278.50”.
In addition to third place over the weekend, Ewing Minor was awarded Angler of the Year for the second year in a row.
The Angler of the Year race results are calculated by totaling anglers’ best three open events and Tournament of Champions finish. First place prize is $5,000 and a Hobie Mirage Lynx.
In second and third for Angler of the Year were Rus Sanders and Jody Queen.
