If you like the thought of an actual Power Plate without sacrificing precious floor space, consider the Power Plate Move. It has a compact base while still being large enough so you can move comfortably. And it’s arguably one of the sleekest-looking vibration plates on test.
Kit out your spare room with the best home gym equipment
The Power Plate Move is available in three colours – silver, matte black, and our personal favourite, red. You can’t store the Move as easily as the Mirafit Slimline Vibration Plate, so if it’s going to be in sight it may as well make a statement.
Power Plate Move benefits
The entire platform has an anti-slip coating that keeps your feet firmly planted so you can move freely without worrying about sliding around. There are six levels of vibration to choose from, each with two different vibration energy output options – low or high.
You also have a choice of timers of 30 or 60 seconds, and either a low or high setting, which can all be adjusted via the remote control or the buttons on the platform. Next to these buttons you’ll find a small LED screen, which displays a digital timer and your frequency and level.
If you don’t want to worry about programming the Power Plate Move, you can select play and let the plate run for a continuous 9 minutes and simply concentrate on your workout.
Power Plate Move technology
The Move uses patented PrecisionWave Technology that Power Plate says helps “engage the muscles in a consistent and controlled manner that results in accelerated training benefits”. You can tailor the frequency from 30-40Hz based on your requirements
The machine includes hand straps, a rubber mat to go on top of the platform and a two-year warranty.

The 76cm x 60cm (30in x 24in) platform is roomy enough to stand on with a wide stance. There’s space to add a few plyometrics or more dynamic moves in too. It doesn’t have vertical handles to hold on to like the original Power Plate, which means you’ll have to rely on your core strength to help you balance. These lack of handles do however make the unit more portable, but at 39kg (87lb) that could be a workout in itself.
The price may be tear-inducing but you’re buying into the entire Power Plate ecosystem. On the website you can access a huge array of resources and research studies around vibration training. There are also helpful videos, including an intro for beginners, and intermediate strength and HIIT sessions.

One-on-one virtual coaching is available, too, as well as monthly fitness workshops, an app and an extensive blog. There’s plenty to support your training. But at the heart of it all is the effective and reliable Power Plate.
If you’re serious about incorporating vibration training into your routine then this quality piece of kit will serve you well for years to come.
