If Thanksgiving weekend is a big deal for football fans, it’s a huge deal for American ski racing fans. On Nov. 26-27, the women’s World Cup circuit will descend on Killington, Vt. for Heroic Killington Cup. With Mikaela Shiffrin poised to collect her sixth consecutive Killington slalom win, you won’t want to miss the weekend’s action—now streaming live and on-demand on Outside TV.
Since the inaugural event in 2016, the Killington tech races have become one of the highlights of the women’s World Cup Tour. In recent (non-pandemic) years, it has attracted a crowd of up to 40,000 spectators, making it one of the biggest World Cup events of the year and proving that the alpine ski racing is alive and well stateside.
Shiffrin, of course, is a big draw to the event. The 27-year-old is the most decorated slalom racer in World Cup history with a whopping 47 World Cup slalom victories to her name. She won the first Killington World Cup slalom in 2016 and has dominated the event ever since, shutting out fierce rivals like Petra Vlhova (SLO) and Wendy Holdener (SUI).
Will Shiffrin continue her slalom reign on Killington’s Superstar by claiming her sixth consecutive win? And will she finally add a Killington GS victory to her stats? Tune in on Nov. 26-27 to find out.
Race schedule
Saturday, Nov. 26: Heroic Killington Cup Giant Slalom
- Run 1 starts at 10 a.m. ET (Shiffrin will be one of the first 10 racers out of the gate, so tune in early)
- Run 2 starts at 1 p.m. ET (reverse order for Run 2 means leaders will start in the back-half, so Shiffrin is likely to start towards the end)
Sunday, Nov. 27: Heroic Killington Cup Slalom
- Run 1 starts at 10:15 a.m. ET (Shiffrin will be one of the first 10 racers out of the gate, so tune in early)
- Run 2 starts at 1 p.m. ET (reverse order for Run 2 means leaders will start in the back-half, so Shiffrin is likely to start towards the end)
