Ideal for workouts, endurance and competitive sports, Kymira’s super-comfortable Charge IR50 compression training top is a high-quality base layer that puts a unique spin on compression gear, using Infrared fabric technology to help boost recovery.
Minerals embedded in the Celliant-infused fabric reflect your body’s Far Infrared (FIR) heat ‘energy’ back into the muscles to create deeper warmth. That boosts blood flow and increases muscle oxygen levels. It also helps to regulate body temperature better, particularly in colder conditions when layering up right can be tricky.
This base layer has a simple, unfussy design with a second-skin feel that slips easily under other training layers. The fit is snug but not constrictive, with good coverage and flexibility. It offers reassuring support, even though it doesn’t deliver the strongest compression. The lightweight, silky fabric is quick drying and with minimal flatlock seams there’s no risk of nasty nipple chafe.

Unlike some compression base layers, the waist is only lightly elasticated so it doesn’t always stay in place. That’s a good thing if you need room to manoeuvre, but less so if you want to avoid chilly updrafts or showing off your belly to the gym floor doing chin-ups or drills with lots of reaching and stretching.
The sleeves feature elasticated cuffs that stay put without pinching but with no watch window it can be a pain to wriggle the cuffs up over a watch during training.
Kymira’s compression top comes in a decent range of sizes from XS to 4XL so you can find a good fit, though it’s not the most precise. It may not feel like it delivers the strongest compression, but we did experience some reduced muscle fatigue after long sessions wearing the Charge IR50, so Kymira’s FIR technology does seem to be more than just marketing hype.
