The unstoppable Indy Pass has made a name for its itself over the last couple seasons as a viable option for skiers looking to lose the crowds and experience the sport at a more grassroots level. Since its debut in 2019, the season pass featuring now 120-plus independent ski areas offers a handful of different products.

There are a few meaningful changes on tap for the 2023-’24 season, including a new owner for the pass. Entabeni Systems, which has been the back-end technology supplier for the Indy Pass since its inception, bought it from founder Doug Fish, who will remain on staff. For next season, Entabeni Systems will introduce a physical card that will let skiers go direct-to-lift at most resorts. They will also cap pass sales for the first time to preserve the quality of the small-ski-area experience.

Prices are up a bit from last season, but there are also 40 more resort partners, including Colo.’s Granby Ranch and Bluebird Backcountry, Mountain High and Dodge Ridge in Calif, and Michigan’s Marquette Mountain, Nub’s Nob, and Treetops Resort. The benefits remain the same: two days at each resort, plus 25 percent off a third day. Passes are currently on sale for returning pass holders, and open to new pass holders on April 1. Skiers interested in buying an Indy Pass for the first time can join the waitlist.

Resorts all sign a one-year contract with Indy Pass, and Fish and company are in the process of determining which ski areas will return. Watch this space for the confirmed list; in the meantime, see the list below for the expected partners.
