On the heels of the news that it added six new resorts last week, the Indy Pass starts a new week with an exciting resort addition that will especially appeal to skiers in the Pacific Northwest.
Mt. Hood Meadows will join the collection of now-92 independent ski resorts for the 2022-’23 season. Pass holders get two days at the ski area, which joins two other Oregon resorts on the Indy Pass, Mt. Ashland and Hoodoo.
One of the largest and most-visited independently owned resorts in the U.S., Mt. Hood Meadows offers 85 trails, 11 lifts, and sees an impressive 430 annual inches of snow per year thanks to winter storms that stall out over 11,225-foot Mt. Hood and drop consistent powder on the slopes starting in October. According to Indy Pass founder and CEO Doug Fish, the ski resort claims the most skiers visits of any Indy Pass resort, and manages to spread people about efficiently over its 2,150 acres. The resort is known to stay open into early May.
In addition to all types of terrain for different skill levels, Hood is also known for its hike-to bowls and gate-accessed sidecountry that adds another 1,700 vertical feet to its résumé.
Indy Base Pass holders will be restricted from using their two days over the holidays and during peak weekends, but you can upgrade to the Indy Pass + for another $100 for no blackouts or restrictions at Mt. Hood or any of the resorts on the pass.

“It is our culture to innovate, implement new initiatives, experiment, learn and then refine,” said Mt. Hood Meadows Chairman and CEO Matthew Drake. “Our first year with the Indy Pass is another exciting experiment.”
For Indy Pass’s Fish, who lives in Portland, Ore., this is an especially personal and meaningful addition to the resort collective that he founded in 2018. “I have skied Meadows since it opened—50 years ago!—and I can honestly say, it is one of the purest skier-oriented mountains in the country and definitely one of the premier resorts on the Indy Pass.”
