Ikon fam, time to put Alaska on your go list. The multi-resort pass owned by Alterra Mountain Company announced today that Alyeska, Alaska’s biggest ski resort will join the Ikon Pass for the 2023-’24 season. This brings the number of resorts accessed by the pass to 56 and the states included to 16.
Ikon Pass holders will get seven blackout-free days at the 1,610-skiable-acre resort, and Ikon Base pass holders will get five days, with blackouts around the major holidays.

Alyeska is the most developed ski area in Alaska, and the only one with slopeside lodging. It’s considered largely an intermediate to expert mountain, with almost 90 percent of the slopes rated blue or black and only 11 percent beginner. Main access is via the 60-passenger tram to the 2,300-foot summit of Mt. Alyeska , which is a must-ride for the incredible mountain, ocean, and glacier views, even if you’re not skiing off of it. (If the elevation sounds low, remember that these peaks are rising from sea level.) The lower altitude doesn’t stop this place from raking in the coastal snow. The resort averages almost 650 incher per year.
If you’re not familiar with Alyeska—and really, many of us aren’t—there’s some serious skiing here. Iconic expert runs include The North Face, which is the longest contiguous black diamond on the continent; Upper Bowl, off the Glacier Bowl Express, known for its wind buff and challenging ridge lines. For a special treat, plan a spring trip when the weather is less gnarly and daylight lasts well into the early evenings.
