Sit-skier crushes Big Sky Pond Skim

The Big Sky Pond Skim is one of the greatest parties on snow, and this year was no exception. To up the ante, sit skier Rob Enigl decided it was time to cruise across the icy pool in his sit-ski, and the reaction was—yep, you guessed it—absolute pandemonium. Pure stoke right here, folks.

Ski Internet saves marriage!

It feels like this happens once every few years, but man, has the interwebs done it again? After skier Jeremy McGlaughlin in the Mount Hood backcountry found an errant wedding ring in the snow, he turned to a vert-minded backcountry forum, Turns All Year, to return the band to its no doubt dog-housed owner. In a matter of days, the man’s wife appeared with the matching ring, and voila! Big ups to the Internet (and Jeremy, I guess) for saving the week and potentially a life of matrimony.

Snowblading High Line at Pain McShlonkey

Tahoe’s @bangercertified is the hero we didn’t know we needed. At this year’s Pain McShlonkey, he capped a banner year in Tahoe by shredding the infamous High Line off of KT-22, straightlining the dang thing in a pair of snowlerblades. Are you kidding me?! Build this man a statue! Or help him sign up for better health insurance, or whatever.

Simon Billy breaks speed skiing world record

French speed skier Simon Billy became the fastest non-motorized human on the planet over the weekend, logging a speed of 158. It’s a triumphant milestone just a few years out from one of the most horrifying crashes I’ve ever witnessed on two planks (seriously, I spit out my coffee, and I wasn’t even drinking any) and a well-deserved mark for a man raised in a family of speed skiers in Vars, France. Now, where do I get one of those suits?

Watch: Zeppelin-assisted ski drop.

Is getting a friggin’ Zeppelin drop into a spicy Alps line the most European thing ever? Yep. Are we here for it? You betcha. Imagination and Red Bull budget are an amazing combo, eh?
